Communication: bring it to a new level

Do you and your child never seem to see things eye-to-eye? Try to change that situation–literally. I saw this helpful tip in Parents Make the Difference, a newsletter from the Parent Institute of Fairfax Station, Virginia.

"Imagine having an important conversation with someone twice your size. You’d probably want him to sit down so that you could see eye-to-eye. That’s how your (young) children feel about talking with adults.

"So next time you’re talking to your child, be ready to sit, squat, kneel or lie on the floor if you have to. It’s likely that you’ll both get more out of the conversation." Try your level best.
