Invest in futures

Many Catholic parents don't know how to talk to their children about the vocations of priest, brother, or nun. Perhaps we just don't know how to frame the question. In U.S. CATHOLIC, Sister Catherine Bertrand, S.S.N.D. says the fundamental question every Christian needs to ask is, "How am I Good News to others?" Not a bad question to put before our children. Instead of pestering them with the usual "What do you want to be when you grow up?" we can help them imagine a future (as lay or religious, married or single) in which they are Good News for others.
