Luckily, I discovered comforters with cooling features. I did a little research on some of the best down alternative comforters, its benefits, and the reasons as to why they are considered the best. Read on to find out more!

6 Best Cooling Comforter in the Market This Year

1. Beckham Hotel Collection Alternative Reversible Comforter

Beckham Hotel Collection Alternative Reversible Comforter

This comforter is by far one of the best cooling comforters in today’s market. It is super soft and luxuriously comfortable. You can actually use this all throughout the year.

It works well as a winter comforter and comforter for warmer nights. Since it is lightweight, it is extremely cozy which is good for someone who sweats a lot.

I love that it is a hypoallergenic oversized comforter. The durable hems and precise stitching give my bedroom a sense of elegance and class. It’s very minimalist which I like. The simple diamond baffle pattern is very fashionable. The reversible color scheme makes it versatile and flexible.

Similar to other cooling comforters, the Beckham Hotel Collection also features a barrier against mildew, mold, and dust mites. Even though I don’t have asthma or allergies, this may be perfect for someone who has them.

PROS

  • Keeps you warm during winter nights and cozy during summer nights
  • Hypoallergenic barrier against mildew, mild, and dust mites
  • Reversible color scheme which you can use depending on your mood

CONS

  • Threading was coming out during the first few weeks
  • Fabric was very thin even if it features a reversible color scheme
  • You can find other comforters with the same features for a lower price

2. Linenspa All-Season Alternative Quilted Comforter

Linenspa All-Season Alternative Quilted Comforter

One thing is for sure — this comforter is so fluffy! As soon as I received the package, I threw this on the washer, and when it comes out, it was fluffier than ever. Some people prefer to have thick and heavy comforters, but the Linenspa comforters are not one of them. It is super lightweight which works well for me because I tend to sweat a lot at night.

This bedding material is also a down alternative microfiber comforter which makes it the best cooling comforter for those who have allergies or asthma. Since feathered pillow tends to collect dust mites, it can be harmful to some. However, a microfiber filled comforter provides softness minus sneezes!

Furthermore, I am a big fan of this comforter’s corner duvet loops which is responsible for preventing the duvet cover to sag. Its reversible design is something to look out for as well. You simply flip the comforter to match its color with your mood.

PROS

  • Features a reversible design
  • Corner duvet loops prevent sagging of duvet covers
  • Allergen-free comfort and softness

CONS

  • Tends to rip and shed easily
  • Several holes were made after washing and drying
  • You can find other comforters with the same features for a lower price

3. Utopia Bedding Lightweight Comforter

Utopia Bedding Lightweight Comforter

I can honestly say that this could be the best cooling comforter for a sweaty sleeper. It allows permeability, and it is breathable.

Even at warm nights, it is 100% cool. It’s not too thin, but I feel like it is light enough to allow air to pass through without losing its warmth.

In terms of sizes, I recommend getting the king-sized comforter for a queen-sized bed. With the king-sized comforter, I have enough space to move around. I like the “oversized” feeling of my comforter. With the Utopia Bedding, I can enjoy a restful night’s sleep in such a soft and durable material.

PROS

  • Perfect for an all-year-round usage
  • Allows air movement and great permeability
  • Super lightweight and is breathable

CONS

  • Confusion and inaccuracy in sizes
  • Some may consider the fabric of the comforter to be too thin
  • Stitching along the top was badly done

4. Zen Bamboo Luxury Alternative Comforter

Zen Bamboo Luxury Alternative Comforter

The best cooling comforter would most likely possess a feature that is not present in other comforters.

The Zen Bamboo comforter is made up of 40% rayon from bamboo, and 60% brushed microfiber. I literally slipped into comfort! This comforter has a microfiber blend shell that is both luxurious and stylish.

Furthermore, I like that this comforter is eco-friendly. It is hypoallergenic and is stain-resistant which makes it easy to wash.

PROS

  • Made up of eco-friendly rayon from bamboo and brushed microfiber

  • Heavier compared to other “lightweight” comforters

5. Sleephi’s Hypoallergenic Lightweight All Year Down Alternative Comforter

Sleephi’s Hypoallergenic Lightweight All Year Down Alternative Comforter

They say that heat is the number one reason as to why we experience light sleep. With the use of Climabalance technology, Sleephi’s has created a comforter that is perfect for a stomach sleeper as well as a sleeper who tends to sweat a lot.

I was particularly attracted to this comforter’s ability to address two of my main issues when it comes to sleeping: excessive sweating and lack of softness as I tend to sleep on my stomach.

I like that this comforter addresses the issue with lack of head support. As a result, it keeps your back and spine straight.

PROS

  • Features a Climabalance technology
  • Addresses the concerns of a stomach sleeper as well as a sleeper who tends to sweat a lot
  • Allows head support resulting in a straight back and spine while sleeping

CONS

  • Some may find this comforter to be too thin
  • Feels too lightweight
  • Confusion and inaccuracy in sizes

6. Hanna Kay Queen Comforter

Hanna Kay Queen Comforter

This comforter may be one of the best cooling comforters, but you may have to spend a little more for this. Nevertheless, this features a silk-touch technology that I find very helpful when having a restful night’s sleep.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of silk; however, silk provides an additional luxurious feeling when sleeping.

It has an unforgettable cotton-blend cover that keeps things silent and soft. Furthermore, it also features a double stitched box pattern that allows the hypoallergenic microfiber stuffing to stay put.

PROS

  • Features silk-touch technology
  • Comfortable cotton-blend cover
  • Double stitched box pattern

CONS

  • Even though it is considered as a lightweight comforter, it feels too thin
  • Even though it is considered as a lightweight comforter, it feels too thin
  • Confusion and inaccuracy in sizes

Factors to Consider When Buying the Best Cooling Comforter

1. Warmth

A good cooling comforter is lightweight but not too thin. It should allow air movement and has a good permeability that results in a breathable comforter. With these, sweaty nights are avoided. It is important to consider your tolerance to warmth as well.

2. Size

It is important to consider the size of your bed before deciding on a comforter. For me, I like the oversized feeling I get when it comes to the comforter. If long covers that drape over the ground do not bother you, it is highly advisable to choose the size after the size of your bed; this is for allowance.

3. Additional Features

When deciding on the best cooling comforter, I had to cross-check the list and look for distinct features such as silk-touch technology or eco-friendly materials such as rayon from bamboo. These are the things that will help you decide whether a particular comforter is better than the others.

Verdict

It was a close call between Hanna Kay and SLEEPHI’s, but at the end of the day, I feel like best cooling comforter goes to Sleephi’s Hypoallergenic Lightweight All Year Down Alternative Comforter. I like how they used technology to determine the main source of light sleep and attacked that issue by creating a super lightweight comforter that has good permeability. Honestly, the first time I tried the Sleephi’s comforter, breathability is evident.

Furthermore, it specifically addresses the concerns of a stomach sleeper as well as a sleeper who tends to sweat a lot which is nice considering that I am both of these. This comforter also allows head support resulting in a straight back and spine while sleeping. In the end, the disadvantages of this comforter lie in the different preferences of the buyer.

Overall

It is hard to choose among different products that have the same features. Regarding the best cooling comforter, you have to trust your instinct and assess which you prefer. There are times when certain features are irrelevant. In this case, you have to find a comforter that can address all of your comforter-related issues.
